Event Overview

“How can we reckon with a racial past if we don’t know it?” asks a veteran director of the Chinese American Museum in Los Angeles. He will join three other speakers at EMS’s Zoom briefing on Nov. 27 to discuss a new Smithsonian Institution initiative called Our Shared Future: Reckoning with Our Racial Past. Together with cultural institutions and museums across the country, they will present a collaborative series of public programs between Dec. 1 – Dec. 17 to explore how race has transformed each of our lives, and how racist events and policies of the past connect to glaring inequities in our society today.
