Event Overview

As we enter the summer season it brings about a reminder that California’s climate, particularly its summers, are becoming increasingly hotter and drier. Californians will likely face interrelated challenges, like wildfires, wildfire smoke, heat, power outages and dangerous water conditions. Many of California’s most at-risk populations will be impacted by these conditions.

Extreme Heat

This briefing, conducted with the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) and Listos California, will include the resources available to help communities prepare for climate related hazards. Known as the Summer of Safety Package, this is a comprehensive suite of preparedness messaging and materials that can be used to help communities this summer.

We will also have a moderated panel of Listos California partners from communities that have previously been impacted by extreme weather to share their experience and lessons learned.

Listos California & Cal OES present a special news briefing:
Co-hosted by Ethnic Media Services and California Black Media
