Los latinos siguen siendo los más impactados por Covid-19

Despite the fact that the Latino population in California is the most vulnerable group to Covid-19, with the highest infection and mortality rates and the lowest vaccination rates, Ana Ramirez will not be inoculated for anything in the world, arguing that the vaccine is the poison that killed her sister.

Her arguments are based on information contained in dozens of videos sent to her by the pastor of her Christian congregation and made by doctors, scientists and researchers who are against the vaccine.

Conspiracies about the vaccine proliferate mainly on social networks, confusing those vulnerable to such messages. As of March 29, the California Department of Public Health reported over 100,000 deaths from Covid, of which 41,873 were Latinos, higher than all other demographics in the state.

So far, 57% of Latinos are fully vaccinated, seven% are partially vaccinated, but 36% have not received any vaccination. Latinos and African Americans have contracted the virus at a higher rate than whites and Asians.

Latinos are now 1.6 times more likely to test positive than whites.
